Laurel Island Links Golf Course

Kingsland, GA

Pros: Very easy access from I-95.   Parking for HH is in the parking lot.  Asphalt, level parking.  Golf course has restaurant open for dinner and breakfast.  Great food.

Cons: GPS directions stopped before we arrived.  Watch the signs when entering the neighborhood.

Hinnant Family Winery

Pine Level, NC

Pros: Very easy to access from I-95.  Nice wide entrance and parking.  Parking for HH is a wide open grassy area, mostly level.  There was one other HH member.

Cons: There were no tours but they do offer a wine flight for a reasonable charge.  Cute gift shop on site.

Castle Glen Winery Estates

Doswell, VA

Pros:  Great place with a lot of history.  Every single staff member was friendly had helpful and clearly enjoyed working there.   We were the only HH that night.  The owners have 5 rescue dogs that we played with for hours.  The dogs are all enjoying life there and are well behaved.

Cons:  You do cross a railroad.  There are two tracks at different heights.  Getting in we crawled over the track, barely missing it.  On the way out, the lower track was first…..our jack was touching the rail on the way out.  Were quite worried we would get stuck or bend a jack, but the jack wobbled and we inched over.  You would want to know this going in.

Donaldson Farms

Hackettstown, NJ

Pros:  Loved this location and the staff!  This was a Sunday and they had a huge fall festival going on.  HH typically park in a front lot but this was used for guest parking….about 200 cars.   They met us in a golf cart and escorted us to a large open field that overlooked the farm.  Mostly level.  Lovely view, and they could not have been nicer!   We were the only HH that night.

Cons: None

Jack’s Hard Cider

Biglerville, PA

Pros:  Large grassy area to park.  There were 3 of us there that one night.  Great view.  The place was very busy, was a weekend and a lot of locals were there.  They had brought their own snacks while enjoying beverages from Jack’s.  This night there was live music.

Cons:  The drive up was interesting.  About a mile uphill on a loose gravel road.  A big rig towing would need 4WD going up for sure.  It has recently rained and the gravel had some washboard areas and ruts across the road.
